Why Field

History worth remembering, made findable.

Ask anything about your program.

Best season ever? All-time leading scorer? Series record against your biggest rival? Field answers from verified records — the same archive your athletic department keeps, made conversational.

Sourced answers, not search results.

Field doesn't surface articles or Wikipedia pages. Every answer comes from structured, verified records — win-loss totals, career stats, championship seasons — with provenance your athletic department stands behind.

Every program has a story worth telling.

Championship-level programs are well-documented. Field is built for all of them — the sport that wins quietly, the program with a 30-year rivalry most fans don't know the record of. History that deserved to be found.

On your athletic department's site.

Field lives where your team lives — embedded on your school's athletic page, available any time. No app to download, no account to create. Just ask.

Questions

Common questions.

Where does Field get its information?

Field answers from structured records uploaded and verified by each athletic department — season summaries, game results, career statistics, championship history. It doesn't pull from Wikipedia, news articles, or general web sources. Every number in an answer traces to a verified record in the archive.

What kinds of questions can I ask?

Historical questions about any program in the archive: championship counts, series records against specific opponents, single-season records, career leaders, coaching milestones, best and worst seasons on record. Field is built for the kind of questions fans and alumni actually argue about.

What if Field doesn't know the answer?

Field tells you directly — including what years it does and doesn't have records for. It never fills gaps with guesses. If per-player stats start in 2002, it says 'in records since 2002' rather than claiming an all-time answer it can't back up.

How accurate are the answers?

Every statistic Field returns comes from a verified query against the program's records — the model writes the explanation, but every number comes from the database. The architectural constraint is that Field cannot fabricate statistics; it can only report what the records show.

Is this available for my school?

Field is available on athletic department sites that have deployed it. If your school's athletic department is interested in making their history searchable, they can reach out — we start with one or two programs and expand from there.

I'm in athletics administration — how does Field help with alumni engagement?

Field gives alumni a direct line to their program's verified history — the questions they ask staff, look up on their own, or bring up at events. It's also a natural touchpoint for advancement: alumni engaging with program history are already thinking about the institution's story. Field is sold at the department level; advancement offices have a separate case for it as a donor-engagement tool.
